My passion for helping people plan for the future sparked during a career planning exercise in the 8th grade when I read about a successful woman CFP® professional. She was good at math and enjoyed helping people, which allowed me to see myself in her. Thus began my journey to infuse love and support into people's financial lives and help them confidently transition into retirement.

After attending California State University, East Bay, and earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an option in finance, I went on to work as a senior financial analyst at EurekaBank, FSB. There, my team and I managed the bank's $1.2 billion investment portfolio. This experience was crucial and provided me with a vast understanding of the capital markets, which directly helps me evaluate clients’ savings and joyfully give them the green light to retire.

In 1998, I moved to Nevada and became a financial advisor for a wirehouse firm. After diligently pursuing further education, 2007 presented the opportunity to realize my lifelong dream of becoming a CFP® professional. TruNorth Wealth Management, LLC launched in 2012 as I took the leap to become independent. One of my favorite things about being a small business owner is the opportunity to create a customized, transformative experience with everyone I meet.

My high school sweetheart, Derek, and I have two sons, Jake and Brian, and a beautiful granddaughter, Isabel. We also have a rescue dog named Lexy, also known as “jaws of fury” for her penchant for chewing up pillows.

With just one visit to my home or office, you’ll know that photography, especially of the great outdoors, is one of my favorite hobbies. We embrace our proximity to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and enjoy backpacking, kayaking, hiking, and fishing as often as possible. On rainy days, I enjoy knitting, quilting, and sewing, as made evident by the 200+ creations donated to Chemo Caps for Kids by my friends and me.

Balance within each aspect of my life is important, and my favorite saying is, “Let 100 Flowers Blossom.” I truly believe peace comes from within and that love and integrity conquer all. My healthy lifestyle includes regular meditation, weight lifting, and a daily goal of 15,000 steps.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and the President of TruNorth Wealth Management, LLC, it brings me great joy to help pre-retirees with the most important decision of their lives - when to stop working. My team and I are blessed to have the opportunity to help busy, family-oriented couples confidently move through the transition from net savers to net spenders. Potential clients can look forward to becoming lifelong friends and family with the TruNorth Wealth team, thanks to the deeply thoughtful and careful attention to detail we provide.

With my extensive background in banking and supporting Commonwealth advisors, I’m proud to contribute extreme attention to detail and my solutions-oriented focus to TruNorth, reinforcing the integrity and camaraderie we love to create with our clients and community.

At just 19 years old, I began my career as a bank teller. After working my way up to branch manager, I began looking for more flexibility. In 2003, I found Commonwealth advisors for whom I could provide professional administrative services and fell in love with the support role so integral to the success of financial advisors.

As my family grew, it became even more important that I have a flexible schedule so that I could hold true to my own personal values of being present, involved, and active with my children. This led me to launch my Virtual Assistant business in 2012, and I’ve been providing account opening and maintenance, client support, file organization, documentation, customer service, and other important problem-solving administrative tasks for Commonwealth advisors virtually ever since.

I love being behind the scenes taking care of the details while Danette focuses on providing a true transformation for her clients. My shy, yet self-driven qualities make me the perfect “right-hand” for Danette as she enhances and enriches the lives of others. I’m honored to be part of the TruNorth team as we share values, back each other up, and pursue balance together.

In pursuit of helping women and families understand and achieve financial stability, I joined TruNorth early in 2022. My experience working up the corporate ladder as an executive assistant and through various levels of human resources led me to love engaging with clients and finding ways in which I can enhance and enrich their lives.

During my years in the Silicon Valley tech and banking industries, I was able to see first-hand how financial education and access to resources varied across professions, demographics, and wealth levels. As a client support specialist with TruNorth Wealth, I get to become part of the solution and help close the wealth gap.

I was raised on a ranch and involved in livestock farming and team sports throughout childhood, which instilled in me a rich appreciation for discipline, integrity, and above all, responsibility. These qualities have helped me establish strong relationships, always do what’s right (even if no one will ever know), and take on skills-sharpening challenges at every opportunity.

When Danette invited me to TruNorth, I couldn’t resist the chance to help nurture a business I believe in and support one of the top women advisors of the Commonwealth Financial Network® who has inspired me for such a long time. As a people person, I enjoy getting to know clients, putting my financial background to use, and enhancing the sense of community and camaraderie we hold so highly.

A Community-Centric Focus

The TruNorth Wealth Management team is passionate about giving back to our community. These are a few of the great organizations and causes that we support.
